Good Chinese representation vital: Taib

SARIKEI, April 6 (Bernama) -- The Chinese community must have a good representation in the state cabinet to ensure their voice is heard and for continued progress, said Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud.
"A good Chinese representations will enable the community to talk and tell the government what they want,」 he said at the ground breaking of SMK Kai Chung's Cheng Ling Stadium in Meradong near here today.
Taib also announced an allocation of RM250,000 for the school. He also said a combination of good politicians and caring government would ensure the state continued to move forward.
"We know how to develop Sarawak, and the ideas will be discussed nicely among ourselves (BN representatives)," he said.
He said the people should look at the steps taken by the government to develop Mukah and Tanjung Manis, which initially were laughed at.
