S'wak polls: PKR to contest 48 seats

KUCHING: PKR has announced its candidates for 48 seats for the Sarawak state elections.

Among the candidates who received letters of authorisation from party adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at 11am Monday was businesswoman Suriati Abdullah, 50, who will be contesting in Balingian against chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud while state chief, Baru Bian will contest in Ba'kelalan.

Anwar also said that PKR has failed to reach a common understanding with SNAP over 27 seats demanded by the latter and there maybe overlapping contests in several seats between the two parties.
